Configuration IPv6 Tunneling over IPv4
Hi ! everyone on today we are going to learn about how to configure IPv6 tunneling over IPv4. This is a screenshot of our topology which is given below with detailed informations.
Step 1: Our first step is to assign IP addresses with the given values in PCs
Step 2: We should do configuration for Routers 1, 2 and 3
Router1
Router2
Router3
Through these steps we have changed the state to up which is in green color shown in screenshot below.
Step 3: Now we should make a tunnel for IPv6 to IPv4 configuration
To configure IPv6 to IPv4 tunneling we should first need to do create a tunnel interface on each dual-stack edge router.
First thing you should is to create a tunnel over Router1
After completing Router1 we should create a tunnel over Router3
Step 4: In this step we should configure IPv6 static Route on Router1 & 3
Router1
Router3
Step 5: Now we should use ping command on PC1 to test the communication between both PCs
Step 6: Now we can trace the path to destination IP to know exact route
Run the tracert command from PC0
After PC0 running completed we should Run PC1
Step 7: We should see IPv6 route of Router1
Step 8: Finally we should see IPv4 route on Router1
Therefore, we have completed successfully our lab session on the topic how to configure IPv6 tunneling over IPv4 for our scenario with the Cisco Packet tracer v 7.0.
