Deploy and Configure DHCPv6 for IPv6
Hi ! everyone on today we are going to learn about how to deploy and configure DHCPv6 for IPv6 with simple explanation given below in the form of screenshots for the following topology.
What do you meant by DHCPv6 ?
The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol version 6 (DHCPv6) is a network protocol for configuring Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) hosts with IP addresses, IP prefixes and other configuration data required to operate in an IPv6 network. It is the IPv6 equivalent of the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv4.
Step 1: First we have to Assign IP address for DNS server
Step 2: Configuration for IPv6 on Router0
Step 3: Configure DHCP for IPv6 on Router0
Step 4: Now we can check whether DHCP options on Clients PC
Therefore, we can see in this screenshot that shows DHCPv6 request is successful in this particular IPv6 lab session with Cisco Packet tracer v 7.0.
